Large Period 5 Bed & 3 Bath family home - Traditional
We were commissioned by the owners of this large family home to carry out a substantial refurbishment to the property after a fire. In addition to the internal redecorations and new soft furnishings, throughout, the brief extended to include significant upgrades to the bathrooms and kitchen.
We incorporated light coloured porcelain gloss tiles on the floors throughout the hallway and the Kitchen to in the light and give a modern and subtle twist combined with the original walnut staircase and beams.
Part of the brief was to 'bring the outside in' hence the choice of floral fabrics in curtain treatments which were kept simple with modern poles.
The dining room was particularly enjoyable to work with. Here we injected a lovely floral wallpaper with Swarovski crystals, mixed with old traditional furniture and simple drapes with trims for fun. The dining chairs were an old family heirloom and these had to be re-furbbed and treated carefully after the fire damage, re-upholstered in rich chenilles and velvets.
We spent over a year working on this lovely home. It was such pleasure to have been involved to bringing Blyth House back to its glory.
We had to have our house completely refurbished after a fire and we could not have done it without Catherine's inspiration, knowledge and guidance throughout the entire process over the course of a year. She gave a very personal service and was a great support.
She worked tirelessly, designing the whole house from sourcing suitable fabrics and furnishings to compliment our collection of antiques. Catherine designed lovely mood boards, carefully making sure every room flowed and came together and complimented each other. She is very patient and has a great sense of humour, making it lots of fun to work with her.
Thank you, Catherine.
